On Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, Christ the King International School proudly hosted its 69th Speech and Prize Giving Day, a momentous occasion that also commemorated the 40th Anniversary of the Class of 1985. The celebration took place in the Christ the King Parish Hall under the theme: “Empowering Minds, Achieving Excellence and Building Character in a Digitized Era.”
This dual celebration was not only a reflection of CTKIS’s enduring commitment to academic excellence and values-based education, but also a testament to the unwavering support of its alumni network. Students who demonstrated outstanding academic performance and active participation in co-curricular activities during the 2024/2025 academic year were honoured with a variety of awards.
The Class of 1985 sponsored this year’s event and instituted the following awards:
- Best Male Student Award
- Valedictorian and 1st Runner-up Award
- Philomena Quiosa Award for Best Female Student
They also paid tribute to former teachers, the former Assistant Headmistress, and the current Headmistress in recognition of their significant contributions to the school and for initiating the alumni-led sponsorship initiative.
In a further show of support for education, Ecobank Ghana Ltd. presented cash prizes to the best-performing students from Class 6 to JHS 2, reinforcing the importance of corporate partnership in educational advancement.
One of the symbolic highlights of the day was the ceremonial ‘Passing the Torch’ from the Class of 1985 to the Class of 1986, who will assume responsibility for sponsoring the next year’s event.
The school community extends its heartfelt appreciation to all contributors, award recipients, and organizers whose efforts made the day a resounding success.
To God be the glory!
